Café Caron was born out of David and Tom's desire to open a restaurant like they ate at home with Alain and Roeltje: in a warm homely atmosphere, with wooden tables and chairs and drawings by Paps on the wall. Where high quality products with simple preparation are the main tone but where, above all, you can have a nice evening in good company. This philosophy is the basis for all our restaurants but originated and refined in our first establishment in the Pijp. As confirmation of our work, since 2019 we have a Bib Gourmand from Michelin that underlines our price/quality ratio.
As in most bistros, we like to keep it simple. We serve a small menu with starters, mains and desserts and always with a choice of fish, meat and vegetarian. Both in the form of a 3-course menu and a la carte. The wine list is French as are our cellar classics in the Red Book. And while we see Café as the ideal place for an intimate dinner, there is always room at the cozy bar as well. In summer, you can sit in the open conservatory or on the terrace around Frans Halsstraat and Eerste Jacob van Kampenstraat just steps away from Petit Caron.

Restaurants Caron was founded in 2016 by brothers Tom and David and their father Alain Caron. With their first restaurant, Café Caron, they wanted guests to experience Alain's take on French cuisine. The restaurant quickly earned a permanent place in the Amsterdam hospitality landscape. Caron now has four restaurants in Amsterdam, each with its own interpretation and perspective of a home-style restaurant driven by the French bistro movement.
